Hello, Let me tell you a little bit about myself. My name is Penny Nail Hoelting. Nail is my maiden name and I’m proud of it!
I have always had a passion for photography & having a real eye for the end result. Quick on the shutter & great at anticipating the candid shot allows me to amaze friends, clients and even myself. My parents gifted me with my first camera for my 8th birthday. With the normal typical curiosity of a child, I went through a lot of rolls of film. Shot good and sometimes really interesting (LOL) subjects/objects but soon developed a real knack for the shutter and a hobby that has become my passion for more than 30 years.
My style and technique of shooting weddings and events is journalistic. I find that by doing so, all aspects of what goes on is fully captured. If you prefer the more traditional style though, that’s not a problem. When shooting for my own pleasure, I love to find a spot in a park, on a street corner or actually anywhere, and just randomly take candids of people and things happening around me.
When trying to decide on a name for my business and website, I wanted to use Candid1 Photography or PH Photography. However, when I went online to start my website both names were already taken. My sister and Mom suggested using my maiden name instead, which is catchy, unusual, & memorable. Hence the launch of PennyNailPhotography.com and the official start to a business versus hobby.
No matter what though, photography will ALWAYS remain my passion.
